In a wired world, anyone can reach us anytime, anyplace.  We forget that we are embodied creatures, in need of places to meet that are more than virtual.  Even, and especially, with God – immortal, invisible – yet the Creator of myriad places for us to inhabit.  Who so loved the world he made that he came down to live in it.

Is there a Room in Your Life for Prayer?

Our Prayer Room embodies our sense of the Lord our God. We lifted the ceiling, for our God is high and lifted up. We paneled a wall with wood, for our Lord was a carpenter. We installed a hearth, for the Spirit is warm and intimate. We brought in chairs and cushions, for to be in the presence of God is to be at home. We kept the floor in concrete, and polished it, for our God bids us watch and pray, but not to sleep.
